Job Summary

Research technician in algal cell biology: Full time position for a research technician in a NSF-sponsored research project focusing on cell wall structure and development in green algae especially as they modulate to environmental stress like drought. The successful candidate will contribute to a multifaceted analysis of cell wall polymers using cell biology, biochemical and molecular biology technologies with a major emphasis on high resolution imaging using light and electron microscopy. Skidmore seeks to attract a staff that will contribute to the diversity and excellence of our academic and research programs. Minimum Qualifications

Master Degree in Biology, Biochemistry or other life science fields; candidates should have: a) a solid background in microscopy, cell biology and molecular biology; b) excellent laboratory management and organizational skills; c) a working knowledge of Photoshop and video editing software; d) the ability to work effectively with collaborating scientists and students; and e) be able to contribute to outreach programs to the general public.
