The department of Public and Environmental Safety exists to support the goals of the university – teaching, research and patience care – by fostering a safe and secure environment in which members of the Tufts Community can learn, work, and live. The Senior Administrative Services Representative is responsible for overseeing all customer-service related interactions at the Administrative Services window including the supervision of an assistant, coordination with the Boston and Grafton Campus for related functions, updating and maintenance of parking and building access databases, and programing/maintaining electronic locks and lock systems. The duties of the position include, but are not limited to, administering parking permits; processing parking appeals; creating and replacing IDs; granting ID card access to authorized spaces; creating time access levels and scheduled overrides in DSX; providing information for campus shuttle systems; reconciling sales; managing the Dowling Garage; and creating reports for the following items: permit sales; Bursar’s office fee transfers; number of citations issued; and number of appeals requested, etc..

The Senior Administrative Services Representative must possess (1) superior customer service skills; (2) comprehensive knowledge of Tufts University’s parking access system; (3) knowledge of parking enforcement equipment and processes; and (4) a comprehensive understanding of ID card software.

The Senior Administrative Services Representative is primarily a customer service roll and as such is the face of the department. It is critical the Administrative Services representative possess a positive, informative attitude throughout the business day.

Basic Requirements:

  • 3 - 5 years related experience.
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Valid Massachusetts motor vehicle operator’s license
  • Office productivity software, ability to learn specialized-function software, web-based applications, Microsoft Windows operating system and suite of Microsoft productivity software, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • The candidate must pass a criminal history records check and background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Vocational/Technical training or Associates Degree and/or 3 to 5 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of electronic parking systems.
  • Knowledge of building access systems.
  • Knowledge of databases.
  • Knowledge of handheld citation writers.
