Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.
Knowledge of: basic mechanical concepts; procedures and standards for safety; cleaning procedures, hand tools, and methods; basic word processing, e-mail, timekeeping and conducting training sessions.
Skill in: establishing rapport with a variety of clients; interacting courteously with customers; working as team; effectively directing the work of others and motivating employees; mediating disputes; problem solving and decision making; evaluating needs and prioritizing workload of the department.
Ability to: understand written job instructions; operate cleaning equipment, perform basic math; mix cleaners and follow policies and procedures; review and complete paper and on-line logs and requests such as time sheets, supply request forms, personnel action forms, customer communication, work orders, and equipment repair; ability to train others on cleaning practices such as stripping and waxing floors and carpet extractions and custodial equipment such as vacuums, auto scrubbers, and side by side machines.

Preferred Qualifications
Three years custodial work or related experience.
Demonstrated experience training others on cleaning practices such as stripping and waxing floors and carpet extractions and custodial equipment such as vacuums, auto scrubbers, and side by side machines.

Job Description
Responsible for providing a clean, safe and sanitized Campus Recreation environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors of the University by performing direct and related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the University.

Job Duties
Perform all basic custodial duties.
Distribute work assignments and keys.
Keep track and enforce attendance policy.
Assist in completing and conducting employee performance reviews.
Train and participate in employee interviews.
Perform facility space inspections and provide feedback to staff.
Serve on-call duties.
Prepare daily logs, safety reports, inventory, employee inspections, timesheets/leave forms, supply requests, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Information to Applicants
Must be able to work irregular work hours including evenings, weekends and holidays as well as, serving “on-call” to meet the needs of the department and the university.

Must have a valid Texas driver's license or obtain a Texas driver's license within 90 days of employment.
