Position Status: Administrative Non-Exempt Positions

Basic Function:
Support the Director, Corporate Relations and the Employer Team of the WPI Career Development Center (CDC) in the performance of activities which focus on employer related services and programs. These activities primarily include operational aspects of employer outreach/development such as job posting approvals, tracking/reporting, and some employer engagement activity. This position is approximately 25 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the facilitation of the WPI job posting approval process utilizing the Handshake platform.
  • Assist with the review and approval of new employers recruiting at WPI via the Handshake platform.
  • Regularly correspond with employers ranging from start-ups to Fortune 100 firms on recruiting-related questions and support activity.
  • Support CDC programs such as career fairs, educational programming, and other employer-based recruiting activities, such as employer outreach initiatives.
  • Support the CDC with employer engagement activity such as research/prospecting, scheduling/hosting meetings, and follow-up correspondence with employers.
  • Support the Institutional Engagement initiative at WPI and assist with the tracking of employer-engagement & related activity.
  • Follow up on requests from the Director of Corporate Relations and the CDC staff related to employer contacts, providing recruiting information and relevant resources.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings, individual meetings, and team meetings as scheduled.
  • Interact with corporate representatives, students, faculty, and administration on a regular basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, plus one-three years’ experience in a career development center or field of higher education preferred.
  • Experience with information technology tools and a high-level of proficiency in using a career services management software platform (i.e. Handshake). Experience with other management tools and CRM’s (i.e. Salesforce, Excel, Qualtrics, Brazen, Google Docs) highly desirable.
  • Extremely detail oriented and able to work in a fast paced/dynamic environment under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact effectively with campus community and external customers.
  • Preferred familiarity with science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), business, as well as humanities and arts disciplines.
  • A pre-employment criminal records check is required.
