Job description

Duties: This is a critical role in the Office of Admissions that will oversee the entire application process for 30+ degree and non-degree programs at the Graduate School of Education. This includes being the point of contact for everything related to our application system, backend and frontend, so comfort with technical systems are critical to the success of this role. This role will supervise two (2) staff members and a group of work study students with a mission to process and complete applications for faculty review in a timely manner and resolve admissions inquiries. The incumbent will have or will develop technical expertise in our application system and be the point of contact for the school. This role also includes event support and recruitment responsibilities.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree is required and 3-5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. A Master's degree is preferred as the incumbent would then have personal, not just professional, experience with the graduate enrollment process to lend credibility to recruitment efforts to prospective adult graduate students. Previous Admissions experience is necessary, with a preference for candidates familiar with Penn systems or general admission application systems. Must be a candidate that show initiative, can operate interpedently and in a team environment, ability to multitask and advance multiple high-priority projects simultaneously, and has experience in a high-volume office. Applicants must be comfortable with data, have strong writing abilities, keen attention to detail, and experience in managing a process from start to finish. Previous staff management experience is a plus. Programming will occur in the evening and/or during the weekend. Expectation of responsiveness outside traditional work hours.
