Degree and Area of Specialization:

Master's degree is required; Ph.D. or other terminal degree preferred. Degree or significant coursework and professional experience related to institutional diversity programming and research, issues of diversity, inclusion, and/or organizational change highly preferred.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

* Experience facilitating workshops, leading discussions on difficult, complex topics, and presentations to students, faculty, and staff using an engaging and interactive pedagogy.
*Demonstrated ability to develop diagnostic reports, strategic plans, and white papers.
*Experience evaluating and assessing organizational efforts using either qualitative or quantitative research methodologies, and highly developed skills in research, data collection, data analysis, and reporting.
*Proficiency in, but not limited to, MS Office Suite, survey assessment tools (e.g., Qualtrics), web conferencing tools (e.g., Skype, Google hangouts, etc.).
*Up to two (2) years' experience strongly preferred working on the academic achievement of underrepresented populations, issues of campus climate and inclusion, strategic diversity planning, and/or other related matters, preferably in higher education.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Knowledge of project management tools, processes, and workflow design, and the ability to apply project management knowledge to meet project requirements.
*Strong planning and organizational skills.
*Strong interpersonal skills.

Position Summary:

UW-Madison, recently ranked among the top ten public colleges in the nation by US News and World Report, is looking for an Diversity & Climate Researcher (DCR) for the Division of Diversity, Equity and Educational Achievement (DDEEA).

The DCR supports the work of the Vice Provost and Chief Diversity Officer (VPCDO) in the three major areas of responsibility: 1) leadership and coordination of activities that advance diversity and inclusion on behalf of the entire campus community with a focus on recruitment, retention, leadership development, research, and engagement; 2) the research administration of the DDEEA under the leadership of the Office of the VPCDO; 3) works with stakeholders to enhance the cross-communication and collaborative relationships between VPCDO and the shared governance groups.

*The incumbent will report to the Administrative Program Specialist (APS).
*The incumbent must be willing and have the ability to travel within the US.
