Posting Summary:
The Office of Safety and Emergency Preparedness (OSEP) is seeking an Emergency Preparedness Education and Outreach Manager. The OSEP develops and communicates the University's key emergency policies, strategies, plans and procedures across Grounds. We help the institution MITIGATE, PLAN, RESPOND, and RECOVER from emergencies, large and small.

The Emergency Preparedness Education and Outreach Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, delivery, administration, and evaluation of educational programs to various groups, including UVA faculty, staff, students and other program participants. Additionally, The Emergency Preparedness Education and Outreach Manager will determine and develop long- and short-term goals, strategic planning, and program development for education programs, outreach programs, and diversity efforts. He or she will also cultivate relationships with functional groups in education and outreach program development. This position may be required to staff after hours events as needed.

An Master's Degree is required with at least four years of higher education emergency preparedness experience coordinating projects and working with diverse populations and timely project management.

FEMA 100, 200, 300, 700 and 800 certifications are required and Associate Emergency Manager (AEM) and/or Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) are preferred.

Candidates are required to possess the ability to translate complex information and design, manage, and implement University programs to fulfill state and federal policies and regulations. Candidates must also possess extensive knowledge of managing educational program design, development, and delivery and be able to synthesize expertise into team management and program design. The ability to demonstrate concise and articulate oral and written communication in daily interactions and the ability to articulate the team mission, vision, and goals is essential. Candidates must also have experience building, leading, motivating, and assessing teams including for individual results and driving overall effectiveness of team. The ability to plan and direct the implementation and modification of technological components of education and outreach is required as is the ability ability to collect, analyze, and interpret information for senior University leaders.

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is required. Experience with VEOCI software is preferable.
