HR Coordinator - Employee Relations and Organizational Development

Position Category: Staff - Full-Time

Promote and communicate the University's Learning Management System (LMS), known as UVULearn, and professional development opportunities to a wide range of constituencies across campus. Assist management with the department's organizational development, training, performance management, employee recognition, and employee relations programs. Duties include: promote and communicate with employees about UVULearn and a variety of professional development opportunities, assist with formatting, implementing and delivering training programs to university employees from a variety of sources, including UVULearn and instructor-led training sessions, assist with developing methods, procedures and systems to support learning initiatives, evaluate and measure the effectiveness of training and development programs, and assist with coordinating existing campus training programs. Duties may also include intake of employee relations concerns, analysis of employee relations trends within specific areas of the university, educating employees on employee relations issues, and assisting management by performing a variety of comprehensive/confidential support to the department.

Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree and two years professional experience in a related discipline or a combination of education and experience totaling four years.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of general concepts and practices related to organizational development, learning management systems, employee relations, performance management, and organizational assessments.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of basic HR/personnel practices and related laws/regulations.
  • Knowledge of MS Office and multimedia tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent planning, time management, communication, decision making, presentation, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Active Listening - giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Coordination - adjusting actions in relation to others’ actions.
  • Basic interviewing skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently with complex and confidential information.
  • Ability to research, interpret, and provide analysis of policies, procedures, and related laws/regulations.
  • Ability to follow oral and written procedures and instructions.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare professional written reports.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team atmosphere.
  • Ability to plan, organize, coordinate and promote training programs.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Human Resources.

Physical Requirements:
  • Moderate physical activity. May require physical effort including lifting up to 25 pounds and some extended periods of standing or walking.
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

Pay Range: $35,188 - $43,985
