Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs

The City University of New York (CUNY) College at Staten Island (CSI) invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for the position of Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs (Provost). As the Chief Academic Officer, the Provost reports directly to President William J. Fritz and serves as the senior member of his Cabinet. As a high-level executive, the Provost has broad responsibility for one or more major areas. This position incorporates innovative strategies into initiating plans and collaborates with other College and University executives and outside organizations, as needed, to develop appropriate policy and to acquire resources.

The Provost's responsibilities include recruiting and retaining outstanding and diverse scholars and educators; increasing the excellence of CSI's academic and research programs; broadly promoting CSI's external reputation including global engagement; and overseeing the work of the Deans of the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Division of Science and Technology, the School of Business, the School of Education, and the School of Health Sciences, as well as the Associate Dean of the Library. The Provost is a dynamic member of an executive team responsible for personnel, budget, operations, communications, and strategic planning. These duties are carried out within a collegial context of shared governance. The new Provost is ideally expected to take office by January 2019.
