Nature of Work
Develop, monitor and report on the university’s compliance with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). This position will become the subject matter expert in PCI DSS and coordinate the institution’s PCIinitiative on campus. This position will work closely with and provide guidance to UWG merchants, the Controller’s Office, and ITS utilizing multifaceted security standards including requirements for security management, protective procedures, network architecture, software design, and other critical measures. Validate targeted training to employees who have access to credit card information and/or process credit card transactions. Assist in the development of modified or emerging training requirements.
Additional compliance responsibilities as assigned pending the maturity and conformity-level of the UWG PCI initiative.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Information, Technology-related disciplines (Computer Science, Information Technology, Accounting, Information Systems, Other IT/Business related field.).
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in one or more of the following areas: internal audit, IT audit, accounting, business process, quality assurance, vulnerability assessment; design and assessment of internal controls; maintaining a compliance program; or administering process improvement.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills (English).
Ability to communicate security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to exercise flexibility, initiative, and good judgement and discretion.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
Intermediate knowledge of the PCI DSS Security Standards and core principles is preferred.
Ability to design/read of process flow diagrams.
Ability to independently and resolve problems while pro-actively working with cross-functional teams.
Occasional and/or light lifting required—Must be able to perform physical inspections and have the dexterity to complete computer entries
