Summary of Duties:
The College of Agricultural, Human and Natural Resource Sciences at Washington State University seeks an associate in research to study plant susceptibility to plant parasitic nematodes. This position is in the Department of Plant Pathology. Position responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following: 1) Assist in planning and designing nematode bioassays in potatoes and Arabidopsis; 2) Conduct greenhouse and laboratory research on plants infected with root-knot nematodes under different plant growing conditions; 4) Tabulate, collate, summarize, and analyze data and maintain records; and 5) Prepare verbal and written reports of results to supervisor for review and use.
A Master’s Degree in plant pathology, plant science, nematology, or a related discipline. Applicants should have working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, and Powerpoint), demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, proven ability to work independently and to work in teams, and demonstrated ability to function with minimal supervision.
