The Office of Sponsored Programs is looking for a successful candidate to assist faculty during award review and facilitate the acceptance of externally funded projects by MSU; responsibilities include: reviewing award documents for official signature; reviewing and interpreting language in solicitations, awards, and other legal documents, including award budgets; preparing summaries of the relevant award terms and conditions for faculty, university officials, and research staff; initiating award account setup to include composing correspondence to MSU internal and external sources. Duties associated with this position involve working on a computer up to 80 percent of the time.Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Business Administration with course work in Business Law and Accounting; up to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in Accounting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of federal Cost Principles and government contract regulations; practical experience with proposal budget development and the interpretation of proposal language; experience in research administration to include reviewing, understanding, and interpreting federal and non-federal sponsor regulations, preferably in a university setting; good to excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills; ability to work independently; diverse research administration experience; demonstrated excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software; excellent written and interpersonal skills; strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities, and manage deadlines in a pleasant and professional manner.Required Application Materials
