Life Cycle Analyst I

Position Summary

Responsible for managing infrastructure throughout its life cycle providing analysis and recommendations for hardware and software maintenance, support and refresh planning. Supports the infrastructure teams to ensure assets are tracked, maintenance contracts are managed, product life is monitored, and products are stocked at appropriate levels. Utilizes CA Assets Manager and other related tools to track assets. Responsible for creating awareness and training within infrastructure teams on the proper asset life cycle management processes. May be responsible for training and overseeing student employees to assist with inventory and asset work. Prepares management reports and cost/benefit analyses.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related information technology field, with coursework in an information technology specialization related to the area of employment; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in an information technology area related to the duties to be performed; experience in the area of inventory or asset management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  

Desired Qualifications

Progressive experience in the area of inventory or asset management in an information systems environment or equivalent applicable experience required. Working knowledge of network switches, routers, cabling optics and related technology. Very Proficient with MS Excel, MS Word, Power Point, and asset tracking systems.

Experience importing and exporting data between Excel and asset management systems; Experience organizing, labeling and monitoring inventory levels; Detail oriented; Experience writing and updating policies and procedures; Experience with maintenance contracts and product life-cycle end of life concepts. Experience with Computer Associates asset management, Office 365, MS Teams, and API programming experiences.
