The Office of Human Resources Office is dedicated to the recruitment, retention, and development of a highly qualified, committed, and diverse workforce, encouraging and supporting the faculty and staff in their vital role of meeting the College's mission and goals and our commitment to our students.

Reporting to the Manager, the TEMPORARY Benefits Specialist assists with the administration of health and welfare plans, various leave of absence programs and other benefit plans and programs for a diverse community of faculty and staff. He/she also tracks metrics pertaining to benefits enrollment activity, separations and off boarding, workers' compensation and provides counsel and guidance to employees regarding eligibility, participation and plan features. The Benefits Specialist performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute experience on a year for year basis
  • One (1) year of professional experience directly related to the duties and functions of the position.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding customer service as evidenced by a high level of responsiveness, first call resolution and by providing accurate, timely and complete information.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with patience, discretion, good judgment, courtesy and tact through effective, accurate and clear communication with excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, reading, and consultation skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and to successfully complete projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
