Degree and Area of Specialization:
Candidates must have an earned MS/MA in Teacher Education or a related field, PhD or EdD is preferred.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Candidates should have experience teaching in a PK-12 setting or similar exposure in a school setting. Experience with online instructional programming is required; experience with online instructional design is preferred. Experience, training, and/or willingness to obtain training in marketing, recruitment, and curriculum development is required.
License or certificate:
The Department of Educational Psychology at UW-Madison seeks a Program Director to oversee the Master of Science for Professional Educators (MSPE) program. This online graduate program for in-service teachers offers students courses designed to improve effectiveness in the classroom as well as exposure to aspects of education administration and policy. The program engages participants in critical analysis and reflection of their instruction, pedagogy, and assessment activities. This position is responsible for managing recruitment and admissions to the program; overseeing the program budget; hiring instructors; leading marketing and outreach activities; and establishing curriculum goals and guidelines. The director will also work closely with program faculty to grow, advance and update the program.
