Assistant, Associate or Professor, College of Nursing
Practice-Focused Faculty Position (tenure-track) at Assistant, Associate or Professor Level - up to 12-Month Appointment
The University of Kentucky College of Nursing invites qualified applicants for this full-time (up to 12-month) tenure-track position with primary responsibilities for teaching in areas of expertise at Lexington or other instructional locations including online or classroom instruction; advising and mentoring DNP students and serving on DNP and PhD student advisory committees appropriate to candidate's expertise; clinical supervision of DNP students; maintaining a record of scholarly productivity; active involvement in university and college committees as well as service to the profession as well as maintaining a limited clinical appointment appropriate to the candidate's credentials.
The ideal candidate will have a doctor of nursing practice (DNP) or doctor of philosophy (PhD) degree or other doctorate in nursing with expertise as a nurse executive/systems leader or a certification as an advanced practice nurse in one of the following specialties is required: acute care, primary care or psychiatric-mental health with appropriate credentials and expertise. Candidate must be eligible for licensure as a registered nurse and/or advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) in the state of Kentucky. Experience shall include teaching experience teaching including online and/or distance learning format; evidence of successful doctoral student mentorship; expertise in area of clinical specialty; evidence of excellence in clinical practice; credentials for an appointment at UK HealthCare and/or UK affiliate, and potential to serve as coordinator of appropriate clinical specialty track.
The candidate must have a strong commitment to teaching, scholarship, practice and service. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Doctorate in nursing practice (DNP) or doctor of philosophy (PhD) or other doctorate in nursing from an accredited college or university, confirmed by an official transcript from the degree granting institution.
Required Related Experience
Experience in academic nursing with credentials for a clinical appointment, ideally one day a week, at UK Healthcare or an affiliated clinical partner. Expertise as a nurse executive/systems leader or certification as an advanced practice nurse in acute care, primary care or psychiatric-mental health specialties is required, with appropriate credentials and expertise. The preferred candidate will have the flexibility to meet the college's graduate student teaching and advising missions at Lexington or other instructional locations. Ideally, the candidate will have experience teaching including online and/or distance learning format; evidence of successful doctoral student mentorship including student scholarship; demonstrate productivity in scholarly activities; expertise in area of clinical specialty; evidence of excellence in clinical practice or leadership; credentials for an appointment at UK HealthCare and/or UK affiliate and potential to serve as coordinator of appropriate clinical specialty track.
Required License/ Registration/Certification
The successful candidate must be eligible for licensure (RN and/or APRN) in the state of Kentucky.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?
Doctorate in nursing and have expertise as a nurse executive/systems leader or advanced practice nurse (APRN). For APRN, certification in one of the following specialties is required: acute care, primary care, or psychiatric-mental health. Experience in graduate level teaching in an online format and advising graduate students.
