Assistant Professor of Architecture
UK School of Architecture seeks candidates with expertise in Renaissance and Baroque architecture and landscape. The full-time academic position comes with a rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-track). Teaching responsibilities include graduate and/or undergraduate lecture courses on Renaissance and Baroque architecture and landscape, as well as seminars or electives in specific areas of expertise. The appointment comes with an expectation of service to the school, university, and community, as well as start-up support to launch a research program that produces scholarly or creative output of national and international standing.
The successful applicant will possess expertise in the architecture and landscapes of the Renaissance and Baroque periods, as well as a combination of university teaching experience and a track record of research and scholarship. We are highly interested in candidates who have demonstrated a commitment to architectural education for the future architect and to integrating research with their teaching. A Ph.D. in Architecture, Art History, or equivalent is required.
As the Commonwealth of Kentucky's sole NAAB accredited Architecture program, UK offers a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture, as well as a two and three-year Master of Architecture programs. Established in 1965, the School of Architecture today employs 30 full and part-time faculty, who teach over 300 graduate and undergraduate students.
