The position is with Quantitative Methodology and Innovation section of the Florida Center of Reading Research, located in Innovation Park at 2010 Levy Avenue.


Daily responsibilities include the analysis, documentation, and support of screening and identification projects at the National Center on Improving Literacy, as well as psychometric and individual difference modeling of federally funded literacy grant activities.

The candidate will also be responsible for data analyses and writing technical manuals for created assessments, as well as manuscripts for peer-review publications.


Academic doctorate or highest-level terminal degree from an accredited institution in Psychology, Education, Measurement, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties, with a demonstrated record of achievement in research. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Research Faculty I.

Candidates must have experience with basic and advanced quantitative analysis of several of the following: classical test theory, item response theory, explanatory item response modeling, longitudinal data analysis, cognitive diagnostic models, etc.

The candidate should have knowledge of PreK-Grade 5 reading development.


Previously published experience with longitudinal growth models, advanced latent variable models, and/or explanatory item response theory.

Anticipated Salary Range

$60,000 - $70,000. Salary to be commensurate with education and experience.

Pay Plan

This is a Faculty position.

Soft Money Funded Position

This position is time-limited based on soft money funding, with renewal contingent upon available funds and the needs of the University.


The schedule generally is 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Criminal Background Check

This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check. The background check will be conducted as authorized and in accordance with University Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11.
