Coordinates new grant applications with faculty and may provide discovery assistance; work with and advise
principal investigators (PIs) regarding applications; assist with administrative portions of applications; facilitate
the processing of grant applications; complete project budget and budget justification; coordinate the
submission of applications before Sponsored Research deadlines; and maintain accurate records and files.
Approves expenditures; verifies that transactions for purchases and travel are correctly entered into OMNI by
Purchasing support staff; ensure that project requests are completed in a timely manner; and on a monthly
basis, assure that expenses are appropriately allocated on projects; work with PIs; be responsive;
demonstrate tact when dealing with faculty members; and consider the best interests of the College,
University and Agency when making decisions.
Coordinates personnel appointments with Human Resource transactional support staff within the College of
Education; coordinate FACET processes; responsible for stipend and fee waiver payments; accountable for
C&G and financial compliance; works closely with the PI and OOR staff to approve funding distributions for all
aspects of a project.
Reviews budget accounts for PIs, the Director of Research, and the Associate Dean for Research; provides
data collection; reconciles budgets for appointments and other expenditures; reviews expenditures for
compliance with internal and external requirements; provides timely reports as required by the PI, Director of
Research, or Associate Dean for Research; and maintains accurate records and files.
Assists with applicable training and event planning, and other duties as may be assigned by the Director of
Research or Associate Dean for Research.
Coordination of project close-outs.
Position will also include preparation of official communications: The position may provide training sessions/
workshops and may assist the COE Director of Research with special projects as assigned.
Bachelor's degree and one years of full-time relevant experience related to the responsibilities of this posting;
or a high school diploma/equivalent and five years of full-time relevant experience related to the
responsibilities of this posting. (Note: related post-high school education and/or experience may substitute at
the comparable rate.)
This position requires the effective development, implementation, and coordination of pre and post award
sponsored research activities for the College of Education. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated,
driven to succeed, dependable, and comfortable with automated information systems; experienced
with preparing, maintaining, and reconciling budgets; familiar with FSU student tuition billings and student
stipends; has proficient experience with the Microsoft Office Suite or comparable software; and has a 'can do'
customer service attitude.
Anticipated Salary Range
Anticipated salary range is $45,000 to $55,000. Salary is commensurate with experience.
This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
Soft Money Funded Position
This is a soft money funded position, with renewal based on available funds and the needs of the University.
