The College of Nursing and Health Professions (CONHP) at Valparaiso University invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing. This position is a non-tenure track, full time, 9 month appointment, beginning August 2018.

Valparaiso University is a distinguished private university of 4,000 students located in Valparaiso, IN, one hour southeast of downtown Chicago. Candidates should be interested in working at a university engaged in issues in Christian higher education in the Lutheran tradition. The College of Nursing and Health Professions has programs in nursing (BSN, MSN, and DNP), health care leadership (BSHCL), health administration (MHA), public health (BSPH and MPH), and physician assistant studies (BSHS and MPA).

The responsibilities of this position include teaching undergraduate/graduate courses primarily in the BSN, MSN, and DNP programs.  In addition to strong academic qualifications and excellence in teaching, the University highly values experience in working across cultural and other significant differences. 

Additional responsibilities will include working collaboratively with faculty within the CONHP and the university; providing service to the university, profession, and the practice community; and developing a research and scholarly agenda of contributions to the field.  The successful candidate will preferably hold an earned doctorate in nursing, but must have a masters degree in nursing, and have three or more years of academic experience inclusive of expertise in adult health.
