Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Department of Biology at Lamar University invites applications for a non-tenure track instructor position beginning August 2018. We seek a broadly trained biologist who will embrace undergraduate teaching as their primary contribution and incorporate effective teaching and assessment methods in the classroom. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and delivery of introductory undergraduate courses for majors and non-majors, and should be willing to teach laboratory sections for introductory biology, microbiology, anatomy and physiology, and other courses as needed. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy, other upper division level courses, and develop online offerings.

Minimum Qualifications:
• A Master’s degree in the biological sciences (PhD preferred and required to teach upper- division courses)
• Post-secondary level teaching experience.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching.
• Commitment to working with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to develop and offer online courses.
