Temporary Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Physical Therapist Assistant
Duties and Responsibilities Serve as program director of the PTA program;Provide effective leadership for the program including, but not limited to, responsibility for communication, program assessment and planning, fiscal management, and faculty evaluation;Teach physical therapy courses; Maintain scheduled office, classroom and laboratory hours as required; Lead program accreditation activities; Advise students; Participate in Health Careers and Pierpont programs, committees and meetings; Conduct program review and assessment; Maintain mutually respectful relationships with peers, staff and students; Participate in recruitment and retention of students; andAssume other responsibilities as assigned by the Dean of the School of Health Careers/Health Sciences.
Minimum Required Education Master's degree
Required Licenses and/or Certifications Physical therapist or physical therapist assistant who holds current license/certification to practice as a PT or PTA in any United States jurisdiction.
Type and Amount of Experience Needed Minimum of five years (or equivalent), full-time, post licensure experience that includes a minimum of three years (or equivalent) of full-time clinical experience;Didactic and/or clinical teaching experience;Experience in administration/management; andExperience in educational theory and methodology, instructional design, student evaluation and outcome assessment; including the equivalent of nine academic credits of coursework in educational foundations.
Special Conditions If additional month is added to contract, it will be paid as a stipend equivalent to one month's salary.
