Job description

Duties: As the senior member of the administrative staff in the division of Biostatistics, this position will be responsible for the day-to-day management of administrative functions within the division and the Office of the Director. Duties will include coordinating the activities of the Office of the Director and the Associate Director for Administration, including management of complex calendars, travel arrangements, faculty recruiting activities and associated logistics. Independently commit the Director's time to those requesting access to him based on an in-depth understanding of the Director's administrative, research, and teaching priorities and commitments. This individual will serve in a senior capacity within the administrative staff, providing training, onboarding and mentoring to new and temporary staff as needed. In addition, this individual will independently prioritize, plan, coordinate and/or oversee logistics for meetings and conferences with individuals and entities internal and external to the university. Overall responsibilities will include organizing and overseeing the workings of the Office of the Director, including responsibility for electronic and paper filing systems to ensure that all pertinent information and supporting materials are retained.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 3 years to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Excellent organizational skills are a must. Proficiency with Microsoft Office required. Must demonstrate excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills with a willingness to work with diverse group of people. Ability to work under pressure, with limited supervision, and exercise independent judgment. Highly organized, meticulous, and flexible; ability to manage time and willingness to work with changing deadlines; ability to prioritize work. Must exercise discretion in working with extremely confidential and sensitive matters. Must be able to develop good working relationship with faculty, staff, and students.
