The Office of the Vice Provost for Academic Outreach is seeking applicants for an Academic Outreach Grant Administrator. Academic Outreach at the University of Virginia applies the intellectual resources of UVA to the public realm by identifying, supporting, and communicating initiatives that provide solutions to real world problems, serve the common good, advance economic development, and improve the quality of life for all. With a strategic focus, Academic Outreach at UVA brings forward its leadership and relevant expertise to support issues of critical importance to the Commonwealth.
The Academic Outreach Grant Administrator will write, edit and assemble documentation for the community engagement classification application to grantor, the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching aims to build a field around the use of improvement science and networked improvement communities to solve longstanding inequities in educational outcomes. A Bachelor's degree is required and a Master's degree is preferred. A minimum of three years of grant/contract writing or project management or a combination of both is required. Experience with the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching is highly desirable.
Candidates will have the ability to write and edit, project management, manage via influence, and possess excellent communication and organizational abilities. Experience developing and presenting data/reporting, assimilating and organizing data from multiple stakeholders in multiple formats is essential. Knowledge of grants and contracts and the ability to synthesize information and provide advice to researchers, administrators, faculty, and business managers is required. Additionally knowledge of University, state, and federal policies and regulations is required.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Experience with publication applications is strongly preferred.
