Job description

The Registered Dietitian will perform as a member of the interdisciplinary team. This position is responsible for the evaluation, coordination, and implementation of the nutrition care plan for patients. In addition, this position will provide education and counseling to patients on their nutritional needs, ensure customer satisfaction and good public relations through the safe and efficient use of resources, and perform duties in compliance with performance improvement plans, TJC, and other licensing, accrediting, and regulatory agencies.

This position will serve as a nutrition educator for students, medical staff, health professionals, and/or general public, as well as a role model, resource, and leader for other clinical dietitians. Qualified applicants will exhibit nutrition expertise in specified area of practice.

Physical Requirements

The physical requirements for this position include: regularly standing/walking with objects up to 10lbs, regularly sitting at a computer work station for extended periods of time (includes repetitive motions).


Part-time Monday through Friday, 20 hours per week, with occasional weekends and holidays.

Shift times to be discussed with direct supervisor.


The ideal candidate will be able to integrate laboratory data, current practice guidelines, make clinical judgments and recommendations; and also have excellent clinical skills and communication skills.

Preferred Education/Experience

Master's degree and Advanced Practice Certification in Clinical Nutrition preferred.

NICU: This position is located in the NICU of the Kentucky Children's Hospital. Experience in neonatal nutrition, a Master's degree, and a Board Certification as a Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition and/or Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) is preferred.
