Data Analyst - Department of Economics, School of Arts and Sciences-18001398

This is a limited term position ending July 15, 2019.

The Department of Economics of Tufts University offers instruction in Economics theory and policy for students pursuing BA, MA and Ph.d.s.

The Tufts Labor Lab conducts randomized controlled trials of worker-related interventions in global supply chains. The data is collected by field teams and transmitted to the Lab for processing and analysis. The purpose of this position of Data Analyst is to prepare the survey instruments, coordinate and train the field teams, receive the data from the field, process the data, construct data sets, cooperate in undertaking analysis, cooperate in writing up analysis and supervise research assistants who prepare survey instruments and aid in the processing of data files.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative economics and 1-3 years related experience.
  • Advanced STATA programming and data manipulation and analysis skills.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, math and writing skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated capacity for original research such as a senior honors thesis, basic knowledge of R, facility with text script in all written languages such as Khumer, Bangala, etc.

Special Work Schedule Requirements:
Some international travel likely.
