Dean College of Business - Academic Technology & Systems Team
This position serves as part of the College of Business Academic Technology & Systems team. Responsibilities include providing support and training of systems utilized for instruction in face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses; designing and building of course sites; and maintaining technologies used in course sites and in the classroom. This position also responds to requests to support faculty, teaching assistants, online mentors, and student end-users in all technologies, including those used to manage large enrollment classes (400+ students). This includes the creation, use, and support/management of AV content for faculty and staff to distribute to students.
Works closely with faculty and staff to build and support all face-to-face, hybrid and online courses using a variety of academic technologies as needed. This includes assisting with course migration each semester. Troubleshoots learning management systems, lecture capture systems, collaboration systems, and other academic technology used in instruction and related to AV experience. This includes providing documentation and instructional guides related to academic technologies used in courses.
Trains faculty in effective implementation of various academic technologies including those related to the AV experience in courses. This includes providing AV usage data as requested and debugging the AV experience in courses/captured content.
Serves as part of a team to manage the Online Learning Studio, One Button Studio, media repository services (Kaltura, YouTube, & Vimeo) and AV production calendar. This includes assisting faculty, students, and staff in creating original audio and video content for academic or promotional purposes.
Communicates actively with IT and Academic Technology staff to develop best practices for implementation of academic technologies. Communicates actively with the Office of Distance Learning to stay abreast of updates in academic technologies.
Bachelor's degree and two years' experience, or combination of post high school experience equal to six years.
Ability to convey technical information to technical and nontechnical users.
Experience operating within Canvas or a similar learning management system.
Experience creating digital content and/or written materials to provide instruction to non-technical end users.
