Responsibilities

Responsible for the management of the Health Centers IT Help Desk, User support for Electronic Medical Records Systems & other practice management software used within UHS, UCC & DOS. Analyze and isolate network connectivity issues & maintain integrity of network.

Responsible for the management of the Health Centers Help Desk, supporting workstations, servers, printers, VoIP phones, and wireless devices. Directs application and user support for all Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, digital radiology, and practice management software for use within University Health Services, University Counseling Center, and Dean of Students. Provides support and technical guidance for the University Health Center and patient portal and mobile applications.

Analyzes and isolates network connectivity issues reported by users. Works with campus to resolve connectivity issues to clinical systems maintaining constant connectivity. Provides local computer/network support relating to network connectivity problems reported by users. Installs, upgrades, and supports the University Health Services LAN, network segment, Internet, and intranet systems. Adds and maintains users on the network; assigning application access that meet HIPAA and campus standards. Maintain integrity of the network by working with Campus Core Networking to assign routing protocols and routing table configurations through Access Control Lists (ACLs). Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services. Administers networking configurations for servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches. Responsible for the development and performance of all data back-up and restore processes. Assist with the development and implementation of the UHS disaster recovery plan.

Responsible for the reviewing of federal and state health care mandates for area of responsibility.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma and six years of experience.

(Note: or a combination of appropriate post high school education and experience equal to six years.)

Experience or knowledge of standard concept, practices, and procedures within the network and data field.

Experience or knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures for computer support.

Experience or knowledge of applicable computer software and operating systems.

Ability to prioritize, multi task & utilize problem solving skills.

Ability to communicate effectively and establish & maintain effective working relationships.

Preferred

Previous experience with Electronic Medical records.

Pay Plan

This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
