Ophthalmology has an opportunity for a Sr. Clinical Research Coordinator. The Sr. Clinical Research Coordinator will manage a set of research protocols and/or Principal Investigators, as assigned by the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Director of the Clinical Research Unit, and will assure efficiency in protocol execution to ensure regulatory compliance. The incumbent on this position will be responsible for compilation, registration and submission of data, monitoring study compliance, and ensuring effective data flow associated with research protocols. He/she will assist the Principal Investigator (PI) and/or Project Manager in the design and development of protocols and feasibility determination.

The minimum requirements are as follows: Bachelor's degree required. Five (5) years of relevant work experience in clinical trials management or research experience in clinical trial setting required. Must be able to work independently and collaborate with a team. Computer skills related to data management required. Data analysis skills and basic understanding of statistics. Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certification may be considered.

Patient safety is a top priority. As a result, during the Influenza ("the flu") season (September through April), the University of Miami School of Medicine requires all employees who provide ongoing services to patients, work in a location (all Hospitals and clinics) where patient care is provided, or work in patient care or clinical care areas, to have an annual influenza vaccination.
