Job Description & Salary Range
Position Summary: Reporting to the Cancer Center supervisor, the clinical nurse provides patient care to an assigned group of patients in the Cancer Center. The nurse incorporates the psycho-motor and age appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other utilizing knowledge of patient assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation. Assists in patient research accural by varied projects and reviewing patient schedules against available protocols. Acts as a role model to students and Clinical Nurse's new to the unit. Functions as a (PCC)Patient Care Coordinator as requested by the supervisor/manager.
Salary Range:
Rate Minimum $43.46 Midpoint $51.56 Maximum $59.66
Required Qualifications:1 year current oncology and chemotherapy experience requiredAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the HealthSystemAbility to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workloadAbility to work effectively with colleagues, physicians and others as part of a care teamAll external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in NursingBLS Certification or obtain within 3 months of hire dateCurrent California RN licenseCurrent chemotheropy/biotherapy card required within 3 months of hireDemonstrated knowledge and practice of infection control techniquesExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishKnowledge and practice of body mechanicsMinimum of six months demonstrated nursing experienceMust demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the jobMust possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and familiesKnowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and formsOncology CertificationUnderstanding of JCAHO requirements
