Using independent judgment and with minimal supervision, the Research Financial Analyst is directly responsible for all administrative operations encompassed within the Organized Research Unit (ORU) and Department of Ophthalmology research, teaching and academic missions. In partnership with the Chair, Center Director, CAO and faculty leadership, the analyst is responsible for ensuring that the financial goals and objectives of the division is met. The analyst coordinates and implements all centers functions and carries out strategic support initiatives and other special projects as directed by the Chair and Director. This includes Finance & Business operations and Financial Reporting and Analysis.
Working with the research faculty, this position is responsible for all contracts and grants post award activity both federal, state and foundation. This position works closely with C&G support services and accounting to ensure monthly reconciliation of ledgers, compliance with sponsor regulations, CAS and NIH Uniform Guidance policies. This position is independently responsible for grant management oversight ensuring that all expenses are allowable and properly allocated to the correct accounts. Direct oversight and management of financial operations, manages research academic and staff personnel, contract and grant administration and research facilities, space and equipment.
The analyst serves in an advisory capacity to the Director, CAO and Chair on all matters related to the Center's operations, taking initiative to develop administrative policy as required and works close with the Director to facilitate effective decision-making processes.
The finance analyst serves as the main point of contact with the department for issues and serves as a liaison with other departments, the School of Medicine Dean's Office and Sponsored Projects as well as other campus offices and organizations and as administrative liaison for external agencies.
Along with the SOM C & G Support Services, assist with contract & grant applications and submissions, ensuring compliance with sponsor regulations, CAS, and NIH's Uniform Guidance. Works closely with UCI Sponsored Projects Administration officials to address concern areas and facilitate proposal submission via Kuali Coeus. Independently responsible for completing monthly financial reports, and for ensuring that all expenses are allocable and allowable. Oversight and management of all budget and financial operations, academic and staff personnel, contract and grant administration and research facilities and equipment within the division.

Salary: Monthly $4,968.58 - $6,755.83
Total Hours: 8-5, M-F
