Monitors, tests, maintains and repairs network and infrastructure elements for Clemson CCIT.
40% - Essential - Monitors Clemson network, server, and application elements, resolve incidents and service requests and/or consult with the subject matter expert team for incident resolution. Applies simple state-of-the-art technology to meet and improve network control center.
30% - Essential - Configure network and system resources, and maintain corresponding system records and documentation. Provides Tier II support as per SME agreements. Performs periodic maintenance and monitoring of computer systems. Performs pre-configured port activations on network switches.
20% - Essential - Prepares and reviews documentation for use in operations for training and knowledge base. Participates in training and cross training for the Tier II. . Provides customer service for all information and/or telecommunication network systems support areas.
5% - Essential - Control network and system processing. Responds to customer inquiries and alerts via emails, incoming calls, and walk-ins. Conducts routine inspections on equipment and reports any abnormalities.
5% - Essential - Other operational duties as assigned such as meetings, project work, administration and facilities requirements.
A bachelor's degree in information technology systems, computer science, or related field and experience in information technology systems or related area. Relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
Firm Job Knowledge - Firm working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations
No Supervisory Duties - Not responsible for supervising employees.
No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.
Enterprise Network Equipment, Windows Server 12/16, Microsoft Applications, z/OS Mainframe, enterprise monitoring (Solarwinds).
