General Summary: The University of North Georgia is seeking applications for a limited-term chemistry position on the Dahlonega Campus at the rank of lecturer, to begin August 2018 and end May 2019. Special consideration with be given to those who have expertise in Organic Chemistry or Biochemistry. Applicants will be expected to have the expertise necessary to teach Survey of Chemistry I & II, Principles of Chemistry I & II, and the associated laboratories. UNG is a co-educational, four-year, multi-campus, liberal arts institution with a strong military tradition that is known throughout the Southeast for its teaching excellence. The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry is a medium, well-equipped, ACS-approved department with its majors pursuing graduate school, professional school, teaching positions, and industrial positions.

Job Duties & Responsibilities: The successful candidate will:
- Be responsible for teaching general and organic chemistry both for majors and non-majors.
- Be expected to teach other upper-level courses related to their field.
- Demonstrate scholarly work involving: undergraduates, advising students, service to the university and community, active participation in departmental activities, maintain a collegial work environment. Professional development is expected.
Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
- MS or PhD in Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field is required.
- The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching.
- Excellence in teaching, and university/community service are requirements for promotion.
