Specialist L3 (Language, Literacy, and Learning) Lab

Recruitment Period Open July 2nd, 2018 through July 17th, 2018 Description

We are seeking a qualified, highly motivated person to work in the L3 (Language, Literacy, and Learning) Lab, in the School of Education at the University of California Irvine. S/he will contribute to a federally funded project investigating children's language, cognition, reading, and writing development for Spanish-speaking English language learners, and will be responsible for managing a project (e.g., recruiting and working with schools and teachers, conducting child assessments, managing data, and training and supervising research staff on project-related activities) with a possibility of contributing to data analysis and dissemination efforts. The project is led by Dr. Young-Suk Kim.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MA in Education, Psychology, or Communication Disorders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

    Preferred Qualifications
  • Spanish-English bilingual
  • Knowledge and experience in school-based research and/or research project management
  • Excellent data management and analysis skills
  • Knowledge in language and literacy development
  • Experience in working with linguistically, economically, and racially/economically diverse populations

    Appointment may be renewed after the first year pending funding. Expected start date is July 15th, 2018.
