The Student Services Specialist provides support to students, prospective students, alumni, and parents for common enrollment and advising questions and procedures. Additionally, they assist with programming for new studentsThis person will be the primary coordinator for the university's Academic Recovery Program (ARP). They will be responsible for collaborating with key university personnel to place students appropriately for leveled intervention and to advise students appropriately toward a return to Good Academic Standing. They will teach courses related to that assignment and will monitor student assignments and compliance for all tiers of ARP.The preferred candidate will have a Master's degree and at least three years' work experience in college student services. The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience in working with a broad range of students, staff, faculty, and community members, and possess an understanding of the academic challenges faced by college students from diverse cultural backgrounds. Highly preferred is significant experience in designing/developing and implementing an Academic Recovery Program, as is experience in working with students who are not in good academic standing. The ability to use word processing and spreadsheets for tasks such as advertisements, mail merging, and data collection/reporting is also preferred. Experience and expertise with Banner Student information systems is a plus, as is familiarity with Argos reporting software and Moodle Course Management software and Google apps. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff are crucial to success.
