The Payroll and Benefits Specialist serves as a team member for central administrative offices of the Russell Labs HUB. The HUB personnel serve three departments: Departments of Plant Pathology, Entomology, and Forest and Wildlife Ecology. This position is responsible for the day to day operations of Russell Labs payroll and benefit functions; process payroll for all employees, resolve payroll and benefits related questions, and entering payroll funding and changes. In addition, this position requires initiative, critical thinking and problem solving, independent judgment and action, discretion, and an ability to communicate with a diverse variety of customers. The incumbent in this position will demonstrate a high level of accountability and administrative ability, provide excellent customer service and work effectively within a team environment.
The incumbent will serve as the primary contact for all operational issues related to the HRS system and recommend changes to ensure efficient and effective use of HRS.
Monday - Friday 7:45 - 4:30
This position is expected to be filled for at least 2 years from the date of hire. Although unlikely, the department reserves the right to convert the position to an ongoing position in the future should there be funding and an ongoing need, and agreement from the incumbent.
