Position Summary: The Assistant Director of Operations works alongside the Director and Executive Director, combining team management, strategy implementation, and internal communications. Specifically, this position will have responsibilities in (1) operations and project management; (2) center outreach and communications; (3) reporting; and (4) HR support. (1) Operations and Project Management: Develop and operate daily, weekly, and monthly policies and procedures for managing time, advancing Institute priorities, managing staff and team meetings, making decisions, and elevating issues to Director and Executive Director. This role will have decision-making authority regarding the implementation and operation of these policies and procedures. Provide program and project management for high level Institute initiatives such as ensuring active and appropriate participation of project leadership team members; creating and overseeing project completion timelines; overseeing project budgets to ensure they are on track; ensuring project goals are met by implementing a process to track and achieve goals and outcomes; leading internal strategic initiatives and special projects. (2) Center Outreach and Communications from Director/Executive Director Offices: Interact by proxy for the executive director by connecting with affiliated center leadership regularly and provide advisement to the executive director on the needs and changes that directly impact institute operations. Responsible for all communications with and scheduling of the Board of Advisors and committees thereof. Conducting pre-meeting preparation and research; notate details and manage all follow-up actions and communications (including any additional research to inform next steps). Ensuring that all executive meetings have a defined agenda and objectives and communicating decisions and priorities across the Institute to make sure teams are aligned. (3) Reporting and Budget: Responsible for gathering and editing content for annual programmatic reporting and preparing reports and presentations for all internal activities and personnel-related issues. Coordinate information sharing across the institute and affiliated centers including monthly updates and draft budgets for new and strategic projects to present to the Director of Operations. (4) Support Hiring and Performance Evaluation Process: Write and/or review all new position descriptions and revisions of existing position descriptions. Track and manage performance evaluations to ensure supervisors are delivering evaluations to employees under the requirements of the University.

Education Requirements:

Qualification and Experience: Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or related business area; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
