The College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Missouri, invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Fellow position in the equine section of the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery. The fellow will work within an equine section consisting of 7 faculty members, 5 house officers, 4 technicians and be an integral part of the equine services. Successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the College's overall goals through teaching, clinical service, collaborative research and outreach. Clinical and teaching efforts are anticipated to be 75% of total FTE. Anticipate 36 weeks on clinics (50% primary emergency coverage, 50% rotations through relevant clinical rotations) and 16 weeks off clinics (includes annual leave). Clinical service includes provision of both primary in house and ambulatory emergency service as well as rotation through the clinical services most relevant to the candidate's professional development goals. Teaching activities will include teaching and supervision of clinical veterinary students on equine service rotations. Remaining time may be devoted to professional development, specialty board preparation, didactic teaching, publication, and or clinical research. Significant in-house opportunities are available for education including journal clubs, house officer rounds and continuing education events.
- A Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree (such as VMD, BVSc) and a minimum of 3 years equine practice or internship and residency experience;

- Certificate or eligibility for DEA / BNDD Certificate;
- USDA accreditation;
- A valid driver's license.

Candidates will be assessed based upon educational and professional achievement and the potential for the candidate to work within the framework of the Equine section. Communication skills, experience working effectively in varied environments and letters of reference will all be considered in selection of candidates
