Position Summary:
Department of Literature. The Administrative Assistant I provides administrative support to the Chair, faculty, and staff members of the department.

Essential Functions

  • Provides general secretarial support, types correspondence; prepares departmental mail-outs, photocopy, and file.
  • Assists the senior secretary in maintaining records and with walk-ins and telephone requests for the department.
  • Provides excellent customer service while ensuring confidential information is secure.

    High School Diploma or equivalent

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    Effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; legally authorized to work in the United States; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment.
