Position Status: Full-Time

Position Summary:
Public Safety. The Public Safety Officer performs skilled work involving crowd and traffic control, criminal investigations, and protection of persons and property. This position is located on the Armstrong Campus in Savannah, Georgia.

Essential Functions

  • Enforces local, state, and federal laws and ensures compliance with University policies.
  • Provides security for personnel, real property, and equipment.
  • Investigates and documents crimes/incidents, documents and preserves evidence, and provides legal testimony when required.
  • Performs campus patrol or serves as substation, victim/witness assistant, or crime prevention officer.

    Minimum Education Required:
    High School Diploma or equivalent; ability to obtain P.O.S.T. certification in Georgia as a basic law enforcement officer

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    Effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; legally authorized to work in the United States; successful completion of background investigation and urinalysis prior to employment.

    Preferred Education:

    One or more year of law enforcement experience

    Salary Range: $27,540 - $34,418
