Cyber Security Faculty and Program Director

This faculty member will direct undergraduate Cyber Security academic programs and facilitate a full-time teaching load of courses in Cyber Security degree program, participate in faculty governance, and engage in scholarship related to Cyber Security degree program, and collaboratively support the mission of the department, the School of Arts & Sciences, and the University. Academic rank commensurate with experience.

Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Teach a full-time load per term for Cyber Security degree program.
  • Provide development and oversight for the undergraduate Cyber Security curriculum and coordination with accompanying required minors and University designated curricular and administrative functions.
  • Communicate and collaborate with external referral sources and partners to ensure a stream of potential students and assist with internships and job placements.
  • Serve as academic advisor for students in Cyber Security degree program.
  • Engage in scholarship in program specialty area and maintain currency and quality of curriculum related to that area.
  • Participate in department, school, and University faculty governance.
  • Contribute to departmental and program committees, including assessment and curriculum.
  • Collaborate with Admissions to support marketing and recruitment initiatives.


  • Master’s degree in cyber security or information technology discipline with previous competency in teaching, Ph.D. preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to obtain relevant cyber security certifications as required for curricular offerings.
  • Demonstrated administrative experience in regard to the development, management and assessment of academic programs, including faculty personnel issues.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, and willingness to work in a collaborative environment.
  • The position requires access to sensitive and confidential student information.  Applicant must be able to adhere to student confidentiality policies and procedures.
