The Lafayette College Environmental Science and Studies Programs invite applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Environmental Humanities beginning in the Fall Semester, 2019. Exceptionally well-qualified applicants at the associate or full professor rank may also be considered.


We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who will contribute to the degree programs in Environmental Science and Studies. The candidate should be capable of teaching an introductory course in the interdisciplinary
Environmental Studies major, an intermediate level course in Environmental Literature, intermediate and advanced courses in his or her area of expertise, and the environmental capstone course. Candidates with demonstrated expertise in Environmental Justice from an environmental humanities perspective are especially desirable. Backgrounds in Environmental Literature, Science and Technology Studies, or Religious Studies, for example, are of particular interest. Academic responsibilities include teaching 4 courses the first year, and then 5 courses per year thereafter, and participating in events and programming related to the Programs in Environmental Science and Studies. In all cases, the successful candidate will have training in Environmental Humanities, a promising scholarly record, and interest in and/or experience working in collaborative interdisciplinary settings.
