Job Summary/Basic Function: The College of Education & Human Development, Department of
Educator and Leadership Preparation, seeks candidates for full-time,
tenure-track appointment beginning fall, 2017. The appointment is
for an Assistant Professor of Special Education. Successful
candidates will teach undergraduate/graduate level courses in
Special Education while working collaboratively with faculty to build
a comprehensive education program supporting diverse
populations. The supervision of field based students and/or student
teachers are also possible. Mentorship and advisement of students
is essential in addition to the involvement in campus activities and
other responsibilities, as deemed necessary. An active service and
research agenda with publications and conference presentations is
necessary. Quality performance will be expected in teaching,
student mentorship, community service, as well as active university
Work Hours: Dependent on course and institutional schedules. Teaching may include; day, night, or weekend courses.

Evidence of scholarly potential/productivity.
Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experience in higher education including advising and
supervising undergraduate and graduate students.
Three or more years in public school teaching in Texas.
