The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Genetics at the University of Virginia School of Medicine and Children's Hospital is seeking a Medical Geneticist to join the division at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank and on the tenured, tenure eligible or tenure ineligible track. Salary, rank and tenure status are dependent upon qualifications and experience.
Candidates must have an MD and be eligible for medical licensure in Virginia. The candidate should be Board-certified or Board-eligible in Pediatrics and Medical Genetics, and should possess excellent clinical, communication, interpersonal, and teaching skills.
The Division of Genetics provides evaluation and consultation to children and adults with a wide range of conditions in clinics at the University of Virginia Children's Hospital and in a series of outreach clinics in western Virginia. In-house laboratory services include biochemical genetics and cytogenetics.
The University of Virginia Medical Center and Children's Hospital are located adjacent to the main university grounds of the University of Virginia. The University of Virginia is annually ranked as one of the premier public institutions in the United States and is located in Charlottesville, a picturesque small, but cosmopolitan city that is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
