Hagerstown Community College, located in western Maryland, is pleased to announce that applications are currently being accepted for a Director, College Advancement position.

The Director, College Advancement is responsible for providing leadership for a comprehensive development program which includes fundraising, overseeing the campus volunteer program and alumni relations. This position will serve as the Executive Director of the HCC Foundation.

Education and experience - Master's degree required; Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) desired; at least 6 years experience at the administrative level in business, non-profit human services or education settings with substantial involvement in areas such as: fundraising, grants development or economic development; at least 4 years experience with technology management systems, including proven skills in data base and spreadsheet development and analysis, as well as high proficiency in the use of social media; experience with resource development strategies, tools, and knowledge in the areas of marketing, prospect research, planned giving, special events, corporate and foundation giving, major gifts, and annual fund; work experience in the areas of alumni relations and organizing volunteers.

Skills and abilities - Evidence or proven and consistently demonstrated accomplishment, especially in the area of fundraising; evidence of the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships and successful stewardship with past, present and future donors; demonstrated ability in financial budgeting and management and working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); knowledge of operational characteristics, services, and activities, and state and federal laws and regulations related to a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization; excellent writing, speaking, and listening skills to effectively communicate with diverse campus and community groups; understanding of the role of the comprehensive community college and the functions of a college foundation within broader college advancement area; demonstrated ability to collaborate with a board composed of volunteers, as well as campus and community partners, in meeting a variety of advancement goals.
