University Scheduling Officer

Primary Function of Organization Unit: The Department of Registration and Records is responsible for recording and safeguarding student academic records. Registration and Records also provides administrative support to many other campus departments. Important functions of the office include: fulfilling campus requests for data; producing student transcripts and enrollment verifications; maintaining curriculum requirements; monitoring enrollment; creating the schedule of classes; maintaining the course catalog; and monitoring overall functionality of registration, graduation, curriculum changes,etc. in the student information system. Additionally, Registration and Records processes inter-institutional registrations with other schools in various consortia, and houses the veterans affairs office.
Essential Job Duties: This position is one of two University Scheduling Officers responsible for managing the scheduling of courses in general classroom space across the University, the official inventory of courses in the course catalog, and departmental/student group event reservation requests. The scheduling officer will be required to oversee and monitor the design and use of classroom/events scheduling software, update the scheduling/events website, maintain accurate course records, provide training and be the main point of contact for all departmental scheduling officers and/or staff or student groups with event requests.
Department Required Skills: - Excellent customer service and organization skills - Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel) or similar software
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: - Experience in higher education, preferably scheduling, registration, and records - Familiarity with the operations of a registrar's office and understanding of university academic, curricular, and legal policies (FERPA) that pertain to the functions of a registrar's office - Experience with PeopleSoft and Ad Astra or other Classroom Scheduling Software -Graduation from a four-year college or university; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (Degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.)
