CFM - Research and Education

Key job responsibilities:

• Support international and domestic research portfolio of an early career faculty member by serving as a key participant in the research process from writing grants, developing budgets, planning studies, obtaining IRB approval, developing survey instruments, designing data entry programs, entering, cleaning and analyzing data, and writing reports.

• Develop all project documentation needed for reporting to grant funding agencies and foundations.

• Support obtaining and maintaining regulatory approvals at Duke and international research sites.

• Support coordination between faculty members and research partners at Duke and other non-Duke entities, including scheduling and set up of meetings, and documenting detailed notes and follow on activities.

• Serve as a key point of contact for subcontractors and collaborators regarding documentation needed to develop and maintain agreements with Duke, invoices,payments, and questions.

• Support hiring and supervision of research assistants, students, and others participating in the faculty member's research.

• Travel internationally for approximately 1-2 weeks, 2-3 times a year, to support research implementation and supervision, including training of research data collectors, and ensuring quality and fidelity of research/research data.

Education

1.Completion of a bachelor's degree plus a minimum of four years of research experience.. 2.Completion of a master's degree plus a minimum of two years of research experience.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in public health, global health, or related field, with 7+ years of experience coordinating large sale and multisite research projects in international settings.

• Ability to work in teams and manage multiple research projects in parallel.

• Experience with regulatory approvals and management, including working with international ethics boards.

• Experience with administration, coordination, and reporting for federal (NIH) grants.

• Experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis preferred.

• Experience with creating digital surveys and managing digital databases preferred.

• Fluency in Spanish and/or Kiswahili preferred.
