Position Summary
The Finance Department at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) is conducting a search for a full-time, non-tenure track position to begin August 2018. The College of Business houses six academic departments: Finance, Accounting, Computer Information Systems, Economics, Management and Marketing.

The Department of Finance serves almost 400 majors who can choose specialized study in either general finance or financial services. The financial services curriculum is registered with CFP Board of Standards, and graduates may qualify (depending on their coursework) to sit for the national certification exam upon graduation.

This position is a full-time, non-tenure track instructor position supported by annually renewable 1-year contracts. Following three successful renewals, the possibility exists for the successful candidate to transition to a three-year renewable contract. The successful candidate will be expected to teach upper division undergraduate courses and engage in meaningful professional development activities as evidenced by production of intellectual contributions to be shared with the wider academic and professional communities, as well as engaging in service activities to benefit the Department, College and/or University.

Teaching: The successful candidate will be expected to teach 4 sections of upper-division undergraduate finance courses each semester, which will normally involve 2-3 unique class preps. Consistently high levels of teaching performance, as evidenced by student ratings of instruction will be a key condition for reappointment.

Professional development, as evidenced by scholarly activity, is a process that includes engaging in activities that enhance the faculty member's knowledge base and skill set, resulting in the cultivation of new concepts and material that can then be delivered to students. Such intellectual contributions are expected in this position and will be expected as a condition of reappointment.

Required Qualifications
The ability to meet the criteria described in the College of Business Faculty Qualification policy at the time of hire for either SA, PA, SP or IP status is required. These classifications and related qualifications are explained in detail in the following Faculty Qualification Document:

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will have:
• The ability to document a minimum of three years of quality teaching experience at the University level, preferably in the areas of banking, real estate, markets and institutions and/or international finance.
• A track record of developing intellectual and scholarly contributions that have been shared with the wider academic community, or demonstrated ability to develop such contributions based on previous work experience
• Experience with curriculum development in a college or university environment
• A professional designation (CFP, CFA, etc.) relevant to the field of finance as reflected in the curriculum currently being taught in the department
