Position Available—Full-time Lab Manager/Research Technician, Duke University

The Marsh lab in the Psychology and Neuroscience Department at Duke University seeks a full- time (with benefits) research technician for the summer of 2018. This short-term appointment is designed to finish several ongoing experiments on graph comprehension and graphical literacy, but has the possibility of extension based on performance and continued funding.

Responsibilities include:
- designing, running, and analyzing experiments (both MTurk and in lab)
- drafting the manuscript (s) on graph comprehension
- maintaining IRB protocols
- developing graphics for the P&N website
- library research - coding/scoring of data
- miscellaneous administrative tasks

The focus of the position will be on graphical comprehension, but the successful candidate may also assist with other ongoing projects on curiosity and essay-writing.

Preferred qualifications: - a bachelor's degree in psychology or a related discipline - one or more years of research experience, preferably on graph comprehension - excellent organizational and multitasking skills and the ability to work independently - strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills - extremely efficient in email correspondence - programming skills in Qualtrics and Mechanical Turk and knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and SPSS or R - ability to create infographics and other graphical representations of data This position is ideal for individuals who wish to pursue research in the future.
