General Summary: The University of North Georgia, Department of Nursing invites applications for the 10-month, tenure track position, Assistant/Associate Professor, Undergraduate Nursing Program.

Job Duties & Responsibilities: The Assistant/Associate Professor duties include:

  • Assisting in curriculum development, implementation, evaluation, and accreditation activities of the undergraduate program.
  • Faculty teaching responsibilities in the undergraduate nursing programs.
  • Faculty responsibilities include participation in university and community service actives, satisfy committee appointments, and engaging in professional practice activities.
  • Designing and implementing studies, collecting and analyzing data, reporting findings, writing grant applications, educating peers in academic or clinical settings, writing articles and research reports in nursing or medical professional journals or other publications, and presenting findings at conferences, meetings, and other professional speaking engagements.
  • Teaching, scholarship, and service are key components of work expectations of faculty at UNG.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Qualified candidates must have an active clinical research program in place.
  • Must have knowledge, skills and abilities as a registered professional nurse.


Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • An earned doctoral degree (DNP or PhD) in nursing from an accredited college/university.
  • Current unencumbered license in Georgia as a registered professional nurse.
  • Prior academic leadership experience required; prior full-time graduate online teaching experience preferred. Certifications as appropriate.
  • Clinical documents required by clinical locations such as immunizations.
